Saeco Celebrates 25 years

25 years ago, Saeco, Italy’s leading espresso machine maker, invented the first fully automated espresso coffee machine, making it possible for coffee lovers to enjoy an indulgent Italian espresso in the comfort of home with the simple push of a button for the first time ever.  Fast forward to 2010, and the market is flooded with home coffee machines – but Saeco remains the original and the best because of its coffee expertise and development of innovative technology. Carrying forward a commitment to offer the very best in taste, design and performance – and celebrating 25 years since the first fully automated espresso machine was introduced to the market – Saeco is launching the next generation of coffee makers that go further than ever before, making enjoying coffee at home a deeply pleasurable experience every time.

Always at the forefront of innovation, Saeco introduced the first machine with cappuccino function, the first multi-drink coffee machine, and the first two-cup coffee making machine. Recently, Saeco has ushered in a new decade of home coffee enjoyment with two new products – the Xelsis and the Syntia. These two machines build on the unparalleled style and performance Saeco devotees have come to love and expect, while offering even more unique features that add an extra dimension to the way you savour coffee.

The Xelsis, Saeco’s most high end and advanced appliance to date, is unlike any other espresso coffee machine allowing you to enjoy a tantalizing assortment of drinks thanks to its multi-beverage capability – from cappuccino, latte macchiato and caffelatte, to espresso lungo, Americano and even tea. Presenting a personalized menu it features your favourites from a selection of nine multi-beverage presets, or, a customized coffee made exactly how you want it. The Xelsis memorizes everything from the aroma and strength of coffee to the milk foaming to prepare the coffee you love. So finally, your coffee machine can be as unique as your taste!

Designed with multiple users in mind, the Xelsis opens up a world of endless coffee choice:  it can create unique coffee profiles for up to six people, and remembers up to nine favourite or customized drinks for each user. This means Xelsis can memorize several different types of coffee specialties and cater to even the most discerning and diverse group of coffee lovers, whether they long for a double strength espresso with thick cream or a cappuccino with extra milk foam.

The Xelsis is also effortless to use thanks to its one touch intuitive display featuring instantly recognizable icons. With Automatic Cleaning, the Xelsis autonomously rinses the milk circuit both before and after each serving and even features an automatic de-scaling cycle. In addition, the Xelsis operates quietly, even when it’s grinding and brewing your coffee, and saves energy thanks to its automatic stand-by and eco mode functions.

The Syntia espresso coffee machine combines style with ease of use and is Saeco’s most compact coffee machine ever. At just 25.6cm wide, the Syntia conveniently fits into even the smallest of kitchen spaces and makes it simple for you to enjoy espresso with a perfectly balanced flavour any time you like. Syntia’s features include ceramic grinders to freshly grind your coffee beans, a Brita Intenza water filter for purer water to deliver a more rounded flavour, and a silicon-sealed and UV resistant holder to preserve the freshness of your coffee beans – all of which make for a delicious cup of cafe-quality coffee.

The Syntia is also effortless to use: the memo function means you can set coffee level as you like, at the touch of a button. Its interface – including a large 3 colour LCD display - features instantly recognizable icons and buttons to select your favourite coffee.

Through continuous innovation, 25 years on from its initial launch, Saeco is still the world’s favourite home coffee and espresso maker and continues to deliver the pleasure of a sumptuous home coffee experience every day. The Xelsis and the Syntia incorporate pioneering technology while still preserving the quintessential Italian espresso experience, showcase all the style and innovation of Saeco
